The company

Listrak is a software company that offers a marketing automation platform for retailers and brands, helping them to drive revenue through cross-channel communication and customer engagement. Their platform focuses on unified customer data, identity resolution, personalization, and cross-channel automation. They help businesses build 360-degree customer profiles, automate behaviorally triggered campaigns, and deliver omnichannel marketing efforts. 

My role

I was the first Product Design leader at Listrak, and so was called upon to create from scratch how we did design. The team had previously functioned in an agency model, and I set up a tight, dedicated partnership between Design and Product Management. I worked with the designers to develop new, user-focused design philosophy, and grew the team so we could support all the work that was going on.

I also did a deep assessment of the UX of the platform to create and guide the priority of developing a next generation of the user experience, which was sorely needed after many years of neglect from a design perspective.

This resulted in a better environment for design, with designers and product managers much happier than before, as well as much higher quality work being developed. It also resulted in a vision and strategy that incorporated the idea of user success as an important metric, helping shift the company from a focus on internal users to thriving and self-sufficient customer users.
