Head of User Experience

at Jenzabar

The company

Litmus is a Higher Education software company, with, at the macro level, two products β€” the CRM used by employees of the school in almost every department, and an online web-based portal, used primarily by students and faculty, as well as other off-campus constituents (like alumni and donors).

Each of these products has multiple large areas within them though, each of which could be considered it’s own product. For example, in the CRM, there are the Student Information Management system, the Financial Aid system, Admissions, Advancement, Course Catalog, and more. In the portal there are modules for accessing most of those back-end systems, as well as a robust e-learning platform.

My role

I joined the company as their first-ever designer, focused on the Web Portal. Over the course of a decade at the company, I rose to be Head of User Experience, leading a team of several designers and overseeing the design of the entire product line.
